Ninth increase this year, pork price increases by RM2 per kg

(Kuantan, 11th) The price of raw pork has been increased for the ninth time this year. Starting from tomorrow (12th), the wholesale and retail pork prices will increase by RM2 per kg, which is the highest increase so far.
In an interview, Chen Fengrong, chairman of the Kuantan Butchers and Meat Merchants Association, pointed out that because the farm adjusted the price of live pigs again, the association's price group held an emergency meeting and decided to adjust the wholesale and retail pork prices by RM2 per kg.
He also pointed out that the wholesale and retail prices in the city are different, but the price of each part of pork will increase by RM2 per kg.
He admitted that the surge in live pig prices will make both merchants and consumers unbearable.
“We hope that the relevant government departments can intervene and meet with pig and livestock producers to understand the reasons for the surge in pig prices in order to curb the continued surge in pig prices. ”
